4 Running Essentials I Never Leave Home Without
When I get ready to head out for a run, there are exactly four things I grab without a second thought:
My Bottle Bottle (yes, you read that right)
My AirPods Pro 2
Gcioii AirPod Ear Hooks
My Running Belt
Buckle up, buttercup, because I’m about to rock your world with why these four items are must-haves, not just nice-to-haves.
Do you hear that? It’s the sound of angels singing because this water bottle is it—especially if you’re someone who constantly forgets their meds.
The absolute best thing about this bottle? A hidden compartment in the bottom for medicine or vitamins. So if you’re like me and realize after you leave the house that you forgot to take your meds (oops), you can stash extras in there for an emergency backup.
“But what if you forget your water bottle at home?”
…Who doesn’t keep their water bottle attached to them at all times? I’m confused.
It has genuinely changed my life. Highly, highly recommend.
Oh, and besides its magical storage powers, it’s also vacuum-sealed, has both a straw and sip lid, and is cute as all get out. Hydration? Check.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Highly recommend. Find it (and other styles) on Amazon.
Airpods Pro 2: The Ultimate Running Partner
Apple doesn’t need me to sell their products, but let me just say: the noise cancellation? Chef’s kiss. My husband snores like a bear with a megaphone, and I literally sleep with these in. They’re that comfortable and that good at blocking noise.
PSA: Please do not run alone with noise cancellation on. Gotta stay safe out there, girlie pops!
Here’s why I love them for running:
They let me listen to my audiobook obsession (yes, audiobooks are elite running entertainment).
They help me hear my interval timer. I’m working on speed training, and those audio cues are a lifesaver for transitions.
You can grab them on the Apple website, or on Amazon.
Gcioii Airpod Ear Hooks: Because Losing an AirPod on a Run Would Be a Tragedy
My lovely friend Jenna got these for me for Christmas because she knew I was getting airpods and swore by them, especially because “you workout.”
And let me tell you, these are an essential for running. The AirPod Pros fit way better than the OGs, but these hooks keep them locked in place, even during my most “high-impact” (lol) activities.
Plus, they come in pink.
Where to buy? You guessed it— ✨ Amazon✨. (Can you tell where I do my shopping, yet?)
Running Belt: The Simplest Solution for Carrying Your Stuff
Everyone has their own way of carrying keys, phone, and snacks. I went with a simple, no-frills running belt that was an Overall Pick on Amazon—and I never looked back.
…Except for the fact that my exact belt is no longer available (um, rude). But fear not! Amazon’s current Overall Pick looks like a solid option if you want something sleek and functional. You can check it out here.
Pause for Questions
But Ali, why on earth do you keep your Airpods attached to your water bottle?
I am so glad you asked! I am incredibly dependent on my airpods. I use them multiple times throughout the day, every day. So in an effort to drink more water, I clipped my airpods to my water bottle so that any time I use my headphones, I’m reminded to drink water. Brilliant, I know!
Wait… do you carry your bottle bottle with you on a run?
I do not. For long runs, I use a hydration backpack. (More on that later)
What running essentials do you never leave home without?
Drop them in the comments, I can’t wait to hear!
